Social bookmarking websites become a successful due to the link building services it offers easily to website owners. In order to create strong backlinks leading to high traffic, web presence and search engine ranking, users tend to submit content on social bookmarking websites which slowly propels these type of websites up on the waves of user generated content. Digg, Reddit are the pioneers and biggest user traffic social bookmarking websites. After pligg first launched the digg clone, thousands of bookmarking websites came in the web 2.0 arena built on pligg.
Now Hotaru CMS is replicating Pligg with a Digg Cloned Script and have launched a social bookmarking script for free. This Digg clone is written in PHP and my sql. Hotaru CMS is built on a voting system where the best news stories come up on the home page based on number of votes. The CMS as however claim that they will launch a series of moderately priced plugins in future to customize their Digg Clone according to users interest.
